How To Do NailArt at Home?

It's no secret that nail art has become hugely popular in recent years. Since you only need to maintain your nails once a week, it's honestly the best accessory for you. However, many people still rely on their favorite nail technician to create intricate designs. It may surprise you to learn that doing nail art yourself at home isn't that difficult. Garima Jaggi, the co-founder of Rrupantarr Salon , shares some tips on how to achieve flawless nail art designs at home, including the equipment you'll need and some design ideas.

Keep it simple with basic product

Before you purchase a full collection of nail polishes and tools, make sure you enjoy doing nail art at home. Garima suggests starting off with no more than five polishes, “ There are a few basic colors you should have in your collection at home, including a nude, a black, and two or three of your favorites.” She further explains how gel polish makes nail art easier because you can set each layer, preventing smudges and extending the life of your manicure.

Clean-up tools are essential

Beginners are likely to make mistakes when experimenting with nail art at home, so tools that enable you to correct your mistakes without starting over are essential to ensure the process isn't overwhelming. Garima Jaggi suggests, you shouldn't use cotton to clean up your nail art because the fibers can stick to the polish.

Invest in Top and base coats

The application of nail art can take much longer than applying a simple coat of polish, so it would be unfortunate if it were to chip soon after. In order to maintain the design and protect your nails, Garima recommends using a top coat and base coat, “ Make sure you use a quick-drying top coat when doing nail art, and wait between five and ten minutes before applying your top coat to avoid smudging”.

Perfection needs practice

There is no short cut to mastering nail art. Garima says, “ Practice makes you perfect. While practicing in the salon, we use plastic fake nails, which are effective when positioned as if they are your own.”  Practicing nail art on someone else is much easier than doing it on yourself if you live with someone who is willing to let you practice on them.

Start with basic design

To build your confidence, Garima recommends starting with simple designs like hearts or dots rather than very intricate designs. Polka-dotted nail art is one of the easiest designs to do at home out of all the designs. This simple nail art can be done at home with some blue nail polish (or any other colour you choose), white nail polish, and a stationary pencil.

1.       To begin, apply blue nail polish or any other colour that you like as a base.

2.       Put some white nail polish in a flat container and dip your pencil in it.

3.       Finish by creating small, neat dots on the base color.

Once all your nails are covered, you've completed this beautiful nail art.
